Birthday boy Piolo Pascual and his loyal supporters were treated for a grandiose yacht party hosted by Cinema One yesterday at CCP Complex Bay Terminal. Piolo was very happy that he got to spend time with the people who supported him in his career all the way. "I am excited, actually I do not know what to expect pero when they asked me what I wanted for my birthday they gave me different options but I said I have never done something like this and it is a treat also parasa mga sumusuporta sa atin to make it more memorable and make it really special. I am surprised with the set-up and everything, nakaka-overwhelm but you know hindi naman tayo yung bida dito kung hindi yung mga supporters at tagahanga natin, it's one way of giving back. Grabe rin ang Cinema One (in supporting my movies), it is limitless, nasa TV tayo sa free channel, free TV, you have TFC you have the support of Star Records, Star Cinema and then the cable channel Cinema One."
"Maraming salamat because I am still in the business because of you guys, kung wala suporta niyo hindi rin naman siguro ako magtatagal. Thank you for being an inspiration, thank you for all the screams and for buying my records, watching my films and supporting my records, you are one reason why I love my job hindi lang because napapasaya ko kayo, napapasaya niyo rin ako and I am happy that you were always there for me through all those years."
When Piolo was asked who he wants to go cruising with he first described the perfect cruise setting. "I love sunsets, I really love sunsets everyday I wait for the sunset, gusto ko nagse-sail, gusto ko nasa tubig so siguro isasama ko kung sino man yung special someone sa akin." He was then asked if the special someone he is referring to is KC Concepcion. "I'd love to bring her along of course, KC also loves the water, mahilig din sa nature yun, e and I am sure ma-appreciate niya yung (ganito)."
The yacht party also served as a break from work for him as he was not able to do so on the day of his birthday, January 12, because he just finished taping for the Maalaala Mo Kaya Ninoy Aquino episode the day before. "Natulog po ako kasi (it was a time of) prayer and fasting sa church wala akong lakas, it (my birthday) fell on a day na katatapos lang ng taping ng Maalaala Mo Kaya for Ninoy Aquino Story. Natapos kami morning na so tinulog ko lang siya. Wala I just stayed home. Pero bale sinurprise nila ako (Maalaala Mo Kaya staff and crew), yung buong grupo, barkada ko, kapatid ko, and ayun inabot kami ng umaga."
While receiving a surprise treat from his friends, ABS-CBN.com asked if he has received a gift from KC Concepcion. "Siyempre, (pero) secret, huwag na, (hindi ko na sasabihin) basta siyempre something special, (and) oo naman (na-appreciate ko yung effort niya)."
Obviously, he couldn't escape the question on what's the real score between them now. "Tapos na po yung…. kasi naman mahirap pa rin, e. Magsalita ka or hindi ka magsalita people will always have their opinions and judgements, so I guess, back to being candid and reckless when I said on national TV that I was courting her I think that was a bad decision for me to even open up about it because for me if I want to be in a relationship I would really want to preserve it and protect it para hindi naman kami magkasira dahil nagkaroon nga ng parang mga iba-ibang nasasabi ng iba ibang tao, up to the point na muntik na kaming hindi magkasundo so I chose to just be quiet, whatever we have we want to keep it to ourselves." Even though Lovers in Paris already ended months ago, still there are issues that they are still getting closer to each other, to the point that they are rumored to be a couple now. "That's what we want people to see, and it is not all for work, it is not all because we wanted to promote our show. That's why whatever you see, kayo na mag-judge, kayo na magsabi kung totoo o hindi."
Though he chooses to keep his special friendship with KC private, he admits that she is included in his prayers and wishes for his birthday. "Opo, kasama siya sa mga birthday wishes ko. Sa akin na lang yun pero siyempre kasama naman yun sa mga plano natin so ang sa akin pagpasensiyahan niyo na po, I just want to protect the kind of relationship that we have kasi hindi naman din simpleng tao yun isa, para din hindi rin tayo mapahiya sa pamilya (niya) and also gusto ko lang talaga alagaan whatever we have."
In general, since Piolo has been so blessed with a successful career, he plans to share his gifts with others. "I want to be able to pay it forward, and it is really time to give back, kasi pag sobra sobra na yung blessings mo baka mamaya maging greedy ka na. I would really love to think na everything happens for a reason. You are not blessed because you deserve it, but because there is a reason for it so you have to give back and I think this is the year for me to share what I have and to able to impart and share my blessings."
